BELGIUM vs JAPAN
KICK OFF: 2nd July 2018 | 19: 00 CET
KNOCK OUT ROUND OF 16: ROSTOV ARENA
Back Belgium to send Japan spinning out of the competition
Belgium are a fancied European team in this year's World Cup competition. But, many think the Red Devils now have a tough route to the final, with Brazil or Mexico standing in their way if they advance from this one. Belgium collected maximum points from Group G, and they are the competition’s top scorers so far with nine goals.
Japan will be relishing their chance to progress further, but they must be scratching their heads on how to stop free-scoring Belgium Romelu Lukaku.
- Belgium are unbeaten in all their previous 22 games (W17, D5).
- Romelu Lukaku has scored 23 times in 20 games under Roberto Martinez.
- Japan have not kept a clean sheet in all their last ten games.
Having beaten Japan 1-0 in a friendly last November, Belgium can be confident of hammering another blow and progress smoothly to the quarterfinals.
