FRANCE VS AUSTRALIA
KICK OFF: 16th June 2018 | 11:00 AM CET
GROUP C ROUND 1 | KAZAN STADIUM
Back France to down Australia with 2 or more goals
Group qualification seems a certainty for France, having been paired with Peru, Denmark, and Australia in the run-up to their group C clash with Australia.
Les Bleus boast world-class talent including Griezmann, Pogba, and Mbappe – players that can combine to unlock the Australian defence at will. France won their maiden World Cup trophy on home soil in 1998, but they have been short of expectation in their subsequent appearances, albeit reaching the final in 2006. Despite losing a European final in 2016, they are firm favourites in this year’s World Cup.
On the other hand, the Socceroos made hard work of qualification playing Syria in a two-legged fixture, having finished third in AFC qualifying. They failed to win a match in Brazil four years ago, and look likely to suffer the same fate.
