GERMANY VS MEXICO
KICK OFF: Sunday 17th June 2018 | 16:00 CET
GROUP F ROUND 1 | LUZHNIKI STADIUM
Defending Champions to fight for all three points in a tense encounter
The defending champions are the team to beat in Russia, but it will take a very organised team to do so. Germany is silently confident of becoming the second team to defend the title in World Cup history since Brazil in 1962. As usual, they don’t boast the big names, but have class in every position.
Joachim Low’s men qualified for Russia unbeaten with ten straight wins, so it’s hard to see who can stop them from making more world cup history.
Nonetheless, the South American side will depend on Chicharito, Carlos Vela, and Hirving Lozano to do whatever they can to cause a potential upset. They can take courage from Germany’s unconvincing form prior to this match. The Germans have conceded a goal in all their past five games; I tip Mexico to find the net and Germany win.
