POLAND vs SENEGAL
KICK OFF: 19th June 2018 | 16:00
GROUP H ROUND 1 | SPARTAK STADIUM
Expect a Tight contest between Poland and Senegal
Poland is making their first World Cup appearance since 2006, and they face Senegal in the first round followed by Colombia and Japan. Indeed, this group is the most open on paper with no obvious team to qualify, though Poland and Colombia are considered the likely winners.
Poland won 8 of their 10 qualifying matches, and they’ll hope to make it to the quarter-finals. Spearheading this team is Robert Lewandoski, and he will be the man tasked to create goals against Senegal.
The African side has taken 16 years to make a second appearance in a World Cup tournament. Liverpool’s Sadio Mane will be expected to provide thrust going forward while Westham’s Cheikhou Kouyate and Everton’s Idrissa Gueye will form a solid block in midfield.
This match promises to be a tight contest, and I’m backing both teams to find the net.
