SOUTH KOREA vs GERMANY
KICK OFF: 27th June 2018 | 15: 00 CET
GROUP F ROUND 3 | KAZAN ARENA
Back Germany to advance with ease at the expense of South Korea
While things did not go well for South Korea in their second group game, Germany got precisely what they wanted against Sweden – a win plus a sigh of relief.
The Taegeuk Warriors look set to leave this tournament without a point after two consecutive defeats to Sweden and Mexico. In contrast, a win for Germany will put them in contention for the next phase.
Germany will want to avoid any complex three-way ties by sealing a comfortable win, and I see them getting it. South Korea may still qualify for the next round if they beat Germany and Sweden loses to Mexico by a significant margin.
- South Korea and Germany have met twice in the World Cup stage (1994 and 2002). Germany won both fixtures by a 1-goal margin.
- South Korea has not scored more than one goal in their last five matches.
- Germany has not kept a clean sheet in all their last seven games.
