CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Group B Matchday 5 | Wembley Stadium
Look to London For Champions League Goals When Tottenham Host Inter Milan
Inter left it late when these sides met at the San Siro in Matchday 1 of the Champions League Group stages. Goals from Maurco Icardi and Matias Vecino secured a 2-1 win for the Italian side after Harry Kane had put Tottenham ahead.
That win set a precedent for Inter’s season so far. After picking up just four points in their first four Serie A games, Luciano Spalletti’s side have won seven league games in a row - with only FC Barcelona stopping them in the Champions League. With victories in October over both Lazio and AC Milan, it’s fair to say I Nerazzurri are flying.
The same can’t be said for Spurs though, especially at Wembley. At the time of writing, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have lost three of their seven home games this season - with defeats coming against Liverpool, Manchester City and Barcelona. Those games were there only real tests this season and thus, doesn’t fill me with confidence in their ability to manage big games.
