PSG VS CAEN
KICK OFF: SUNDAY 12TH AUGUST 2018 | 20:00 CET
LIGUE 1 WK1 | PARC DES PRINCES
There Could be Drama in Paris when PSG Welcome Caen
Caen forced a crucial point against PSG to survive relegation last season, but the visitors can defy the odds this term and record a win. The Parisians will be encouraged by their French Super Cup success, but I feel Thomas Tuchel may get off to a poor start in Ligue 1.
PSG are still to welcome back key players who took part in Russia and Tuchel may allow them some more time to tune up. Neymar was handed a 15-minute cameo against Monaco, while Mbappe and Cavani are yet to show up. Dani Alves is still sidelined, but Tuchel has more than enough options on the bench to deploy in this encounter.
Caen boss Patrice Garande is yet to defeat PSG since he joined the club in 2012. Caen beating PSG at Parc des Princes looks an impossible mission, but I’m predicting the “curse of the defending champion” to befell PSG in this one.
Backing Caen to find the net is a reasonable bet that could double your stake, but a low score win may be a good value bet to consider.
- All the last four games featuring PSG have produced 4 or more goals.
- Caen has not scored more than one goal in a single game over their last 15 games.
