CHELSEA VS ARSENAL
KICK OFF: Sunday 15TH July 2018 | 17: 30 CET
Premier League wk2 | STAMFORD BRIDGE
Who has the edge in the equally matched contest between Chelsea and Arsenal?
These two teams lock horns for the fifth time in 2018. There has been very little to set them apart in the last four games.
The Gunners are in great shape under Unai Emery. They have a winning mentality and the urge to put games like these to bed. Aubameyang is expected to lead the front line, and his pace will be hard to defend. His goal scoring abilities are also well-documented. Mesut Ozil will probably be at the centre of everything alongside Mkhitaryan. Arsenal’s best chance, however, is their current unpredictable nature and that should work in their favour.
Chelsea opened their campaign with a 3-0 win away to Huddersfield, and so they come into this game with much confidence. Key players Eden Hazard, Willian and Kante, had the chance to warm up after international duties. The problem lies with the misfiring strikers – Morata and Giroud – and it’s hard to see either converting their chances in this one.
Arsenal triumphed on penalty shootouts in the most recent ICC match. That should suggest that Unai Emery has already gone one better than Maurizio Sarri and the Spaniard could be the one smiling at the end of this London derby.
Key Match Facts
