Chelsea vs Manchester United
KICK OFF: Saturday 20th Oct 2018 | 13:30 CET
PREMIER LEAGUE Matchday 9 | STAMFORD BRIDGE
A meeting of two sides at opposite ends of the form table, but can the red devils get their first win at the bridge since 2013?
Eight games into the new season, Manchester United are eighth and seven points off the top. It has been a rollercoaster start to the season for Mourinho and his troops, can they put their struggles behind them for good against Hazard and co.?
It was a thrilling game at Old Trafford last time out, Manchester United emerging with the much needed 3 points, but in all honesty, they made hard work of beating a pretty average Newcastle team. Chelsea on the other hand, went about their business more quietly, routinely dispatching an equally average Southampton side 3-0 with goals from Hazard, Barkley, and Morata.
Judging by form alone, United are in for a very tough afternoon at the bridge. They come up against a Chelsea side that has taken to Sarri’s philosophy like a duck to water and United’s recent struggles at the back will have Eden Hazard licking his lips at the prospect of facing the likes of Chris Smalling and Ashley Young.
Mourinho might deploy Ander Herrera in this match, to try and stop Hazard, but on paper, this is only going one way, and that is a comfortable Chelsea victory.
United have won only once at the bridge this century, with the victory coming via a late Chicharito strike in October 2012.
Chelsea won this fixture last season by an Alvaro Morata goal to nil.
Chelsea to win and over 1.5 goals
Correct score prediction: 2-0
