MANCHESTER UNITED VS TOTTENHAM
KICK OFF: MONDAY 27TH AUGUST 2018 | 20: 00 CET
Premier League wk3 | OLD TRAFFORD
Can Tottenham unlock Man U’s defence or will it be an open Game?
This meeting has favoured the home side in recent years, and I don’t think we should expect anything out of the ordinary.
Jose Mourinho will have the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, and Ashley Young ready for this encounter after their long break. Luke Shaw made the headlines in that opening game against Leicester, and unlikely to be replaced in his position. Eric Baily’s strength will also be needed to muscle Harry Kane. We can expect United to handle this game with a safety-first approach and hope to cause damage at every opportunity.
Tottenham set out in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Newcastle, but we might see a few changes in personnel and formation. Moussa Dembele may start alongside Eric Dier to battle United’s physical midfield. Harry Kane’s August hoodoo means Spurs might have to source from goals elsewhere, the likes of Cristian Eriksen, Dele Alli, and Son, must rise to the challenge.
Due to Mourinho’s defensive approach against strong opponents, I see this match producing few goals.
