TOTTENHAM VS LIVERPOOL
KICK OFF: SATURDAY 15th SEPT 2018 | 13:30 CET
PREMIER LEAGUE WK5 | WEMBLEY STADIUM
Can Spurs hurt Liverpool's perfect start to the new season?
Mauricio Pochettino’s charges welcome high-flying Liverpool, and there’s little to separate the two sides despite Tottenham’s loss away at Watford. Spurs thumped Liverpool 4 -1 when they met on this ground last season, and another high-scoring encounter is possible.
Spurs excellent start to the new season came to an end at Vicarage Road, in a match where no Tottenham player got on the scoresheet. Spurs have the quality, but Pochettino stressed on the need to show aggressiveness after the game against Watford. That much will be needed to unlock a Liverpool defence that has only conceded one goal in four Premier League games.
The Reds maintained 100% record with a win against Leicester and the positive vibe should see them get a result in this match. Mo Salah scored against Spurs in both legs last term, and he will fancy at least one again. Liverpool’s summer reinforcements including Keita, Shaqiri, and Fabinho will hope to show their worth in the big games.
Goals at both ends are likely, and Spurs are odds-on to avoid a successive defeat in the league. Liverpool sit on top of the table, and they won't be knocked off their perch without a fight.
