Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Watford
KICK OFF: Saturday 20th Oct 2018 | 16:00 CET
PREMIER LEAGUE: Matchday 9 | Molineux stadium
Woeful Watford To Be Fed To The Wolves
They may have had two weeks to recover, but Watford will still be reeling from their embarrassing 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Bournemouth. Already a goal down before being reduced to 10-men, the Hornets completely collapsed and were fortunate not to lose by more.
Wolves, on the other hand, are flying on their return to the Premier League. They’ve lost just once all season and are unbeaten in their last six league games - including draws with both Manchester sides. Nuno Espírito Santo has his team playing some magnificent football, and I imagine that will continue against a Watford side without a win in five. With five wins and six clean sheets in their last seven games in all competitions, expect Wolves to be compact at the back - looking to hit Watford on the counter-attack with a mixture of pace and skill. Their 5-3-2 is extremely difficult to penetrate, with Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves protecting their three centre-backs and spreading the ball well.
Watford haven’t been as defensively astute as their opponents, failing to keep a single clean sheet in the Premier League this season, and will also be without three of their first-choice back four. Jose Holebas and Christian Kabasele miss out through suspension, while Daryl Janmaat is still struggling with a knee injury. They will need their creative players to be at the races really but having been involved in three goals in their first three games, Roberto Pereyra has struggled to impose himself on games since.
