Jersey Gambling Commission Licence Overview

JGC issues six types of licences, valid for 5 years (unless otherwise stated):

  • Remote Operators Licence (B2C): For online casinos offering gambling services directly to players from Jersey.

  • Platform Providers Permit (B2B): For businesses supplying software and hardware to B2C operators.

  • Hosting Service Providers Permit: Required for data centres hosting online gambling platforms (valid for 1 year).

  • Software Designers Permit: For developers creating casino games for Jersey and other jurisdictions.

  • Personal Gambling Licence (PGL): For individuals running or representing gambling businesses.

  • Gaming Machine or Remote Gaming Testing Houses Licence: For companies testing and certifying gaming software and security systems.

Licence Fees

  • Remote Operators Licence (B2C):

    • Annual Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) under £1,000,000: £23,290 per year.

    • Annual GGR £1,000,000 or more: £52,395 per year.

    • Application fee: £6,990 (additional £6,990 may apply if further processing is needed).

  • Alterations to Licences: £295 (e.g., change of company name or registered address).

  • Disaster Recovery Licence: £5,000 (application fee: £1,000).

  • Mirroring and Load Balancing Services Licence: £8,155 (application fee: £585).

  • Late Payment Fee: 10% of the licence fee (pro-rata).

Key Player Protections

Licensed casinos must:

  • Clearly display game rules, RTP (Return to Player) percentages, and jackpot details.

  • Ensure games are fair, with no misleading "near-misses" or hidden rule changes.

  • Implement strict age verification to prevent underage gambling.

  • Allow only one active player account per user, linked to a maximum of two bank cards.

  • Provide transparent account history showing deposits, wagers, and withdrawals.

  • Offer clear information about their JGC licence on the casino's homepage.

Dispute Resolution

Players have access to a dispute resolution process. Casinos must clearly outline their complaint procedures in the Terms and Conditions and Responsible Gambling sections, with up-to-date customer service contact details.

Game Testing

All games are independently tested by accredited labs. The JGC checks game versions and hashing algorithms to ensure fair play.

By choosing a JGC-licensed casino, you can be confident that the operator follows strict rules to create a safe, fair, and transparent gambling environment.

We only feature fully licensed casinos — so you can play with peace of mind.
