Refund declined
I am submitting this complaint regarding Bet4Star (bet4star.com) following the rejection of my formal complaint and request for reimbursement.
My complaint is not simply that I gambled and lost money. I fully acknowledge that I personally cancelled withdrawals and subsequently gambled the funds.
The key issue is that BEFORE the subsequent loss occurred, I contacted Bet4Star support because I was concerned about my ability to cancel pending withdrawals.
I explained to the support representative that I had previously cancelled a withdrawal and then lost a substantial part of those funds through gambling. I specifically asked Bet4Star whether they could block or protect my withdrawal so that I would not be able to cancel it again.
The representative clearly understood that I wanted to prevent myself from cancelling the withdrawal and gambling the money. However, I was told that this was not possible and that the safest option was simply not to cancel the withdrawal.
Unfortunately, the exact risk I had warned Bet4Star about subsequently occurred. I was still able to cancel the withdrawal and gamble the funds.
I have screenshots of this conversation with Bet4Star support showing that I requested this assistance before the subsequent loss occurred.
My account history also shows a repeated pattern of cancelled/recalled withdrawals. I identified 11 withdrawals marked by Bet4Star as “Recalled”, with a combined value of £20,850. I understand that this gross figure does not necessarily represent my actual net financial loss because some funds may have been involved in more than one withdrawal request, and I am not claiming that £20,850 is automatically owed to me.
I submitted a formal complaint to Bet4Star and asked management to review the complete circumstances, including my communication with support before the loss. I also proposed an amicable settlement.
Bet4Star rejected my request. Their final response primarily states that I accepted their Terms and Conditions, that I was responsible for my gambling activity and that funds gambled and lost during normal play cannot be refunded.
However, I believe their response does not adequately address the central point of my complaint: I had specifically contacted Bet4Star before the subsequent loss, explained the previous problem and asked for assistance to prevent another withdrawal cancellation.
Following my formal complaint, my account was also placed under “Self Exclusion” even though I did not activate Self Exclusion myself. Bet4Star then informed me that my account had been permanently closed.
I am resident in Great Britain and my Bet4Star account was registered in the United Kingdom. I have also asked Bet4Star to provide the full legal identity of the operator of bet4star.com, its gambling licence and regulator, the legal/regulatory basis on which it provided remote casino gambling services to me in Great Britain, and the independent dispute resolution procedure available to me.
I am asking Gamblescope to independently review the circumstances of my case and, if possible, contact Bet4Star regarding a fair resolution.
I can provide supporting evidence, including screenshots of my conversation with Bet4Star support, withdrawal/recalled transaction history, my formal complaint, Bet4Star’s final rejection and the Self Exclusion message.
